consultants. We have training and experience in this exciting
technology
called Laser Assisted in-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK), which uses
a computerized laser to reshape the surface of the cornea, allowing
many
patients to see well without glasses or contact lenses. Our doctors
consult
with patients who are considering this surgical procedure, to evaluate
their potential success. If the patient is a good candidate, our
doctors
will perform a battery of specialized pre-operative tests, guide the
patient
through the surgical procedure with the ophthalmological specialist,
and
then provide the important follow-up care post-operatively for the
following
months to bring about the optimal visual results.
With LASIK, a surgical flap is made so the laser beam
can re-shape the cornea internally -- when the flap
is closed, there is little if any external wound, so
the recovery is very rapid:
